The Provençal way of life

Discover Le Moulin du Château

A charming hotel close to nature

In the heart of Verdon and close to the Gorges

Take the Natural Regional Park of Verdon with its grand canyon, then add the low gorges and two lakes, Sainte-Croix and Esparron. Dot a few villages here and there, along with a few olive groves, and you have a perfect holiday location. All you need now is an intimate charming hotel where you’re guaranteed to get a warm welcome and find an environmentally-friendly approach to tourism, as the hosts have been been doing for over 20 years. You’ll find all this at Le Moulin du Château in Saint Laurent du Verdon.

Edith and Nicolas welcome you into light and airy indoor spaces, 10 rooms and suites with neat decor, plus the kinds of areas and calm you’d expect from quality tourism. In this old oil mill, the hosts cook up the flavours of Provence that they love, each delectable dish having a story to tell and being made of local seasonal produce. Whether you choose spot of pool or just one more drink on the terrace, here you can relax in a preserved environment. The hiking trails wind away from this homely hotel and will lead you to wonderful environments. The nearby Valensole plateau will give you the impression that you’re standing on top of the world, while canoeing in the Gorges du Verdon is just as breathtaking.

Nature before your very eyes!

All of them open up onto the surrounding nature.

Table du Moulin du Château

Edith and Nicolas, working in tandem

The breakfast buffet, typical of the “Hôtels au Naturel” is full of the enthusiasm for the day ahead, as do our varied fresh picnics. Your catering hosts follow the cycle of the seasons, serving delectable food on the terrace under the hackberry tree or in the welcoming ochre-coloured dining room. Edith and Nicolas choose their producers to create your Mediterranean cuisine, using the market’s fresh seasonal produce and accompanied by flavoursome regional wines that have been rigorously selected.
